Has anyone tried Lipo-flavonoid for tinnitus treatment?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 1 Comment

I have been suffering from tinnitus for the past few months, don’t know why it started or how, I just know it sucks! I also have panic disorder now, and it is worse because of the tinnitus. I have heard of this new over the counter Lipo-Flavonoid and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with it. Thanx in advance!

I have heard Lipo-flavonoid works.

There are physical things that can cause this problem. If you haven’t already done so you may want to consider checking:
1. Thyroid problems. Get checked by an endocrinologist.
2. Hearing loss. Go to an ENT and get a hearing test.

I had tinnitus for about a year and then had my ears checked and they were fine. Then I had my thyroid checked and found out I was "out of whack". I started thyroid hormone treatment and the tinnitus went away within a couple months.

My brother is a homosexual. Is there any natural supplements or herbs that can help fight it?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 16 Comments

Some people think it is genetic, but whatever the cause I think that maybe it can be corrected if the brain is functioning properly. It doesn’t make sense that people would not like the opposite sex because it is natural. Is there any supplements or herbs that can heal the brain and help him? I want nephews and nieces and I’m sure my parents want grandkids from him. Thanks for any help.

No, there aren’t substances that can control his hormones in that sense. I’m not saying that out of pro-homosexuality, but people researched this kind of thing for years. There would have been a cure a long time ago if it were possible.

You need to be supportive of him. There is a significantly increased depression/suicide rate in homosexuals whose families tried to "change" them, even when done out of concern. Homosexuality is in the minority, but it DOES happen naturally. He’s facing a cruel world and he needs his closest loved ones to accept the way he is.

Gurus of Yahoo Answers, Questions about Hemorhoids: Is what I began for home treatment correct?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 3 Comments

Sorry for the many questions on hemorrhoids!

So my doc’s appointment got moved back to next week to look at my PROLAPSED hemorrhoid. Till then I am helping my body in the following ways:

- Increase fiber + water intake.
- Avoid going to the john until the "urge" hits. Then I breathe in and out to help avoid straining. I use wipes.
- Adding bioflavoroids (sp?) to diet to strengthen veins.

After starting this home treatment, I notice that when I have "proper" bowel movements (no hard stools, little straining, quick and dirty), I see less blood in the toilet, and less blood when wiping. Also, my hemorrhoid goes back in quicker and easier(shrinking?).

Note: I said "when I have…" I try to have good bowel movements everytime, but occasionally I don’t get enough water, or fiber, etc.

As you may guess, I am not a fan of invasive surgery, hence the home treatment. I research a bit and found that high fiber diets do reduce symptoms, but take a while!

Am I going in the right directions?
P.S I am a college student, so surgery would hinder me a lot, but if it’s the only way, I guess I must.

Also I am sorry if any descriptions gross you out!

Finally, for the medical experts/past experiencers, my hemorrhoid is not painful when it protudes, and when I contract the muscles, it goes back in smoothly. As my diet improves, the amount of blood on my feces decreases.

I believe so many people also use preparation H for pain relief and it also helps with the shrinking of them.

Can Preparation H cure hemorrhoid or just for relieve symptoms?

Using a topical creme(Prep H) is not a long term answer to get rid of hemorrhoids, but it will provide temporary relief and shrink the hemorrhoid. If you are looking to cure the hemorrhoid, I suggest visiting, http://curebleedinghemorrhoids.com and checking out the all natural cure. I used this after struggling with hemorrhoids for over a year and having surgery recommended to me. I have been hemorrhoid free and using an all natural treatment was much better than the pain and discomfort I would have faced with surgery. There is also a mini course that will teach you about hemorrhoids and their root cause.

Has anyone had any luck with natural healing from endometetriosis?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 2 Comments

I am considering having the surgery because i have been in severe pain for months- but i would like to try some herbal or natural remedies first. Has anyone had any luck at all with this- or is my only option surgery? (i refuse to take the shot)

Contrary to common misconceptions about the disease, there is no cure. There are, however, several methods of treatment which may alleviate some of the pain and symptoms.

How Supplements Can Help

You can begin with daily doses of two herbs traditionally paired together: chasteberry and dong quai. They can help balance hormones that cause endometrial pain. They also relax the uterus, a benefit also true of the herb wild yam.

Because endometriosis is thought to be a condition of "estrogen excess," taking a daily lipotropic combination, which makes the liver more efficient at clearing extra estrogen from the body, can help. A suggested combination might contain milk thistle, choline, inositol hexaniacinate, methionine, and dandelion.

In high doses, calcium and magnesium can relieve menstrual pain by lowering levels of prostaglandins (body chemicals produced by the uterine cells that cause cramps). If you decide to take a high-dose calcium/magnesium supplement for painful cramps, take it only during your period.

Other supplements, which you can include simply because they have so many positive effects throughout the body, may also help with endometriosis. Vitamin E balances hormones, reduces inflammation, and boosts the immune system.

Evening primrose oil (or the less expensive borage oil) and flaxseed oil provide essential fatty acids that help control inflammation and block cramp-causing prostaglandins.

Vitamin C can hasten the healing of tissues damaged by cysts and scarring; it also helps control heavy bleeding by strengthening capillary walls.

Consider acupuncture treatments. This therapy, in conjunction with Chinese herbs, has been seen to alter and balance the body’s hormones and to provide pain relief for endometriosis.

herbal cures for cold clammy hands?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 1 Comment

gah. I get cold clammy hands, and it drives me crazy!
Is there any type of herbal cure, or anything??
thanks!

You can always pee on your hands. The acid in your urine assists in shutting off the secretion glands.

You can also try lotions with aloe. Moisturized hands are better than clammy hands.

How much effective is Homeopathy in rabies treatment?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 7 Comments

I am taking treatment for rabies (post-bite) in homeopathy. Is it effective?

Please tell me you’re joking! Rabies is a very serious disease when untreated. Without speedy medical treatment it is almost universally fatal.

Homeopathy is known to be effective for *any* condition and it’s a waste of your money. It’s basically quack medicine and a widespread scam.

Can someone suggest natural cures for diabetes?

September 1, 2010 - 12:55 pm 10 Comments

I am tired of taking medications for years for my diabetes. As I grow older I want to reduce medication and switchover to natural cures if possible.

Diabetes is not reversible. Please don’t discontinue any medication without discussing it with your doctor, and PLEASE don’t take advice from people who know so little about diabetes that they refer you to bastions of quackery like Mercola and Natural News.

You don’t give your age, and you don’t say whether you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes, or whether it’s insulin you are taking.

But in another question you talk about your love of junk food and how you don’t understand how it can be bad for you.

Type 2 diabetes can often be controlled by diet alone; mine is. And junk food has no part in a diet for controlling type 2 diabetes. At my 6 monthly check ups, my average glucose level for the previous 3 months is regularly around 5.2; I don’t know where you live or how that translates, but it’s very good control. But I know that however controlled it is, however low I keep my blood glucose levels – I’ll still always be diabetic.

There are no ‘natural cures’ for diabetes. It’s a bugger; I wish I wasn’t diabetic too, but it’s with me for life. It is for you too. I manage to keep on the straight and narrow by asking myself which I want more, chocolate or my feet? Junk food or my eyesight? No contest. If I had to take medication for diabetes my attitude would be the same.

Please don’t run the risk of uncontrolled diabetes and the dire consequences that can have by abandoning your meds and going for any of the dubious (at best) ‘cures’ that may be recommended here.
