cure or help for hemorrhoid’s?

January 11, 2011 - 7:52 am 3 Comments

I know this isn’t a very good subject but does anyone have any ideas for home treatment of a hemorroid (external) that very seldom goes away? I have IBS and ulcerative colitis which probably makes matters worse.I would like any input. Thank you.

As the two folks above stated about the salve and "H", they work. You can also try a sitz bath…soaking in the tube and let the water slosh around your bottom. Also, Annusol supp. will help. If bleeding and painful, you may want to try a surgeon and get them taken out! Good Luck :O)

Hemorrhoids can anybody help???

i guess i am having an external hemorrhoid.
i dont experience pain or bleeding. in worst cases i dont feel comfertable setting in some positions.
anyways , i dont know what to do about it
is there any posibility in which i can get rid of it ( at home).
can it be gone forever!! or does all treatments are just for living with it???
it really bothers me to have this problem!
although i always eat good food ( lots of fibers )???
help me please is there a way to get rid of hemorrhoids forever???

The swelling will most likely reduce on its own before too long. Preparation H or Tucks are a couple over-the-counter products that may be useful. There are no methods of removing hemorrhoids at home. Only a hemorrhoidectomy or banding procedure (both surgical) can completely remove problematic hemorrhoids, but most go away on their own. Try not to strain when having a bowel movement. Heavy, strenuous physical exertion can also be a cause of hemorrhoids.

HELP! My as$ is p!ssing me off!…?

Basically i had haemorrhoid’s which went away…
and then pilonidal cyst which kind of stopped [ the bleeding and everything, for a while]
It’s started off again…but now i have this kind of i guess you can call it rash but its making me bleed A LOT…it’s really red there…and theirs kind of spots there..and it hurts A LOT…like it stings…and the pain is literally unbearable if it come it contact with something e.g. water…
I don’t know what to do! I’m gonna cry..
BTW I’m only 14.
Btw i haven’t been to the doctor for any of this..and i REALLY don’t want to..cos it’s my as$ for god’s sake!
Is there any treatments..like home ones..to make it permanently go away?
and what EXACTLY is all this…

I know it is embarrasing, but see the doctor anyway. He or she has already seen just about everything, including probelms a lot worse that a ‘roid.

You need to deal with the pain and address the possibility of infection. Don’t let the problem get worse.

Same goes for the cyst. Get treatment soon, unless the doctor says it is not necessary. If it gets worse, you may need daily treatments, after surgery, over several weeks, and it will disrupt your life. It has happened to three friends of mine, all in their late teens or early 20’s. Deal with it, now.

Is Hemorrhoids Fatal In Dogs if Not Treated?

January 1, 2011 - 1:59 am 5 Comments

My standard short haired chihuahua has what I think is hemorrhoids. What makes me think this is the fact that when I looked him over his anus was protruding out and looked swollen. I am no expert with hemorrhoids but this was my first guess. He has been having straining bowel movements. At first he had diarrhea all the time now he has solid fecal-matter which he struggles to push out. The pieces are broken apart and seem to be connected to a stand of hair every time. I am really sorry if this is TMI but my fiance and I have zip, zero, and zilch money to take him to the vet. So if this sounds like hemorrhoids what should I do to treat it? Are there any at home remedies? If not will he die because of no treatment? Any of you who have experience with your dogs and hemorrhoids I am looking for your answers. Thanks.
I’m dead serious. Neither my fiance and I work. We have no savings. We just hit a crisis not that long ago. I am not an evil person. I love my baby Dinky and I would totally take him to the vet if I had any kind of money. But seriously though. I literally have 0 money between my fiance and I. I feel really bad for my baby but there is nothing I can do for him right now.

Dogs don’t get hemorrhoids… they can get a prolapsed rectum… Go to the vet!

Well..think about whats best for your dog…definately veterinary care..so if you can’t afford it then surrender him to the humane society where he can have proper treatment.
Its not fair to your dog just because you have no money.

How to talk to doctor and family about hemorrhoids?

December 28, 2010 - 2:33 pm 4 Comments

So I think I may have a hemorrhoid. It’s not a bump, but it’s very tender and is on my anus. I heard that hemorrhoids can be under your skin too…? The thing is, I’m not very good at talking about [embarrassing] health matters with people, especially my doctor. I want to tell my family too, what do I say??? Also, I want to avoid spending money on treatments if I can help it. If I can avoid it, I would like to get a diagnosis here and learn about some home remedies [if it is a hemorrhoid.] Thanks!

The hems will heal up if the cause is erradicated. They pop out of the inside of the body when straining and pushing impacted matter against the sphincter muscle of the anus.
If your BM’s are dry and impacted at the rectum use glycerin suppositories to help lubricate the blockage out. Then your bowels can pass that point freely. To prevent impaction again obey the call of nature, give yourself time in the morning instead of rushing out the door without your BM. And eat fruit every day, roughage such as bran and raw vegetables. Drink more fluids because when we lose fluid and do not drink enough to replace it, the body becomes dehydrated and pulls moisture from tissues and the colon to operate systems.

My Grandfather (80) Has been struggling from SEVERE constipation. PLEASE HELP!!?

December 25, 2010 - 3:07 pm 2 Comments

He has Parkinson disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and a heart condition. He takes several medications a day including pain pills for his back. I know the pain pills can cause constipation, but not to the extremity of it now. He uses enemas, and laxatives, including sorbitol (for severe constipation) and it seems nothing is helping. He occasionally uses hemorrhoid cream as well. He eats lots of T.V dinners, soups, sausage, and processed meats. His diet is horrible, but he is having trouble cooking for himself. He also sits at home in his chair and watches T.V most of the day and has trouble getting any exercise because of his deteriorating muscles. He is week and nauseous most of the time. I am getting ready to move in with him to care for him and am wondering if there is a certain diet that may help, or if it will require treatment from a physician. We have been to several doctors and all they do is change his medicine around. PLEASE I AM DESPERATE!! He needs help.

Changing meds will probably not do much as constipation is a symptom and not just a medication side effect. As the body stiffens with PD, the GI tract suffers.

Want to make a simple change in your grandfather’s diet? Higher fiber foods, a bit of dark chocolate might be a good way to start (if the chocolate does not upset his insulin). The processed meats probably accerbate his PD or interact with his meds. In either case they are not good for a PD patient or the cardiace patient. Your grandfather’s diet is not helping and is probably contributing. He is getting a very high sodium content, way too much fat and far too many nitrates and nitrites.

Fiber: Refried beans – yes in cans – have been a great help for us. My husband loves them – a little added tang and they have become a staple for lunch. They help as do sweet potatoes, certain cereals. The sausage – unless poultry – is probably a negative for all of his medical consitions. Your grandfather needs plenty of fluid as well – mainly water and green tea, but also certain fruit juices (not grapefruit)

You migh consider eliminating bread as much as possible unless you are going vey high fiber – even then keep the quantity low. It probably isn’t helping although it is a staple in the quick and easy (and unhealthy) diet. He may not like it but it might help. I don’t know if a colon cleanse will work but he may need it – please consult with his doctors first.

You are on track with the lack of exercise not helping his condition. Lack of exercise will only allow the disease to continue its progression . He is weak from lack of exercise, the disease and the medication. And lack of exercise will only make the constipation worse. The nausea may be a medication side effect and also a side effect of the medication. Because you are moving in with him you may be able to get him to join you in simple chair exercises. While these may not help with the constipation, they will help his overall condition.

The link below has some easy exercises which you can help him do – there are other exercises at this site – they are listed under Exercise in the right column:

I would also suggest trying some of the vocal exercises as these may help strengthen abdominals as they encouraging use of the diaphragm.

Become acquainted with all of his medications, their dosage timing, their side effects. You may need to determine if there is duplication. Make sure that he signs a release with the doctors so that you can discuss his treatment with them.

The problem with suggesting supplements aside form antioxidants is that some may be contra-indicated depending upon his meds. You can probably do more by organizing everything and reorganizing the food shopping and eating patterns.

I commend you for your love and courage. You can make a difference but it won’t happen immediately.

Hemorrhoids sucks! Anybody tried 3 elements herbal remedy?

December 19, 2010 - 5:11 pm 1 Comment

My hemorrhoids are killing me. I have tried ointments and creams but with no serious results. I am looking for something natural and home treatment but not expensive. I found this site http://www.byebyehemorrhoids.com
but does anybody have any experience?
Please give me a hand here…Thanks

The best natural treatment I have heard of is witch hazel compress or cream. his drug store staple is made from the leaves and bark of a plant called Hamamelis virginiana. It is not be taken internally but is instead applied topically to the anal area in the form of witch hazel distilled liquid, ointment, or medicated pads.

Witch hazel is thought to decrease the bleeding of hemorrhoids by acting as an astringent. It may also relieve pain, itching and swelling associated with hemorrhoids.

EXCRUCIATING Pain when I go to the bathroom?

December 16, 2010 - 8:41 pm 3 Comments

I have a very embarrasing problem. I am really way too young to be having this problem. I’m 23 and i am experiencing ALOT of pain when I go to the bathroom. I have had constipation problems for several months now and i kind of just ignored it and now it has gone to a much worse level. When I go to the bathroom, it REALLY REALLY hurts (feels like I have needles poking me and trying to come out) and my BM movements feel incomplete if you know what I mean (TMI sorry)

Anyways this has been going on for three weeks (the pain) and recently I have seen blood on the toilet paper and in the toilet. I’m trying to change my diet but its so hard. I have started eating steamed vegetables and drinking a lot of water during the day. I think this may be hemmorhoids but I am really afraid because I have heard that treatment for hemorrhoids can be surgery sometimes and that can lead to some potentially embarassing situations.

What can I do? any home care remedies? I did tried Milk of Magnesia a couple of times and it didnt seem to do much for me. Ive also been drinking hot water every day at work (Ive heard that helps with digestion) and so far it hasnt helped too much. There was a point when I used to eat cereal in the morning, that did help with my BM movements but it made it HURT ALOT to go to the bathroom.

Also for those who have had this problem, what is the treatment like? Does it help? Do you have any advice?

The chewable fiber tablets at the link aren’t too bad. One of these 2-3 times a day and a magnesium supplement you can get in the vitamin section of any grocery store or pharmacy – once in the AM and again in the PM can make a big difference. If you try something like this and it still doesn’t work, that probably means there something more than diet causing this and it’s time to see a doc.

Is it a hemorrhoid? I know it’s gross but I want a serious answer?

December 13, 2010 - 8:47 pm 4 Comments

I’ve had it for almost a year now and I’m starting to get really annoyed by it. I never really had a problem until now but it itches like hell every second of the day, I have bloody bowel movements, but it doesn’t hurt much unless it’s touched. I’ve tried witch hazel and vaseline, different hemorrhoid creams, and every home remedy on the internet. Nothing works. I really don’t want to go to a doctor because I can’t stand the idea of having someone analyze my butt. All of the symtoms seem like a hemorrhoid but it looks like a swollen vein (which I understand is what hemorrhoid is) it’s doughnut shaped and stings when it’s touched and the rest of the sphinctor is hard, swollen, and has a purple-ish tint. I just don’t know if it’s a hemorrhoid because most pictures of hemorrhoids are like round pollyps.

I don’t know :/ should I suck it up and see a doctor or is there a treatment I haven’t tried?

( I’ve tried the Sitz bath, an assortment of creams, the witch hazel thing, eating more fiber, fruits, and water, and countless other things that fail to have an effect )

It is probably a hemorrhoid. The biofavonoid Rutin is supposed to be a cure.
